Programs > Men’s Health
This program aims to keep GPs/Practices updated with current Men’s Health information.
PivotWest facilitates a Men’s and Women’s Health GP Small Learning Group, which meets on the third Wednesday of each month. The learning objectives of the group are to:
Ø Increase knowledge, confidence and skills in the areas of men’s and women’s health
Ø Improve communication skills
Ø Increase knowledge of local services, fostering mutually beneficial relationships
Specialist speakers, preferably local, present at each group on topics identified by the SGL. The peer support structure encourages participants to review and discuss complex cases, sharing experience and expertise.
PivotWest is a member of the Brimbank Men's Shed Working Group, located in Sunshine. Our involvement supports the provision of health information, education and discussion on topics identified by the group, with the aim of addressing needs of local men. PivotWest assists through arranging local services, GPs and other health professionals to present to the group, promoting a better understanding of services available and health issues experienced by the men.
