Background
The Nursing in General Practice (NiGP) Program is a key program under the Australian Government's Nursing in General Practice training and support initiative.

Aims and Objectives
The aim of the NiGP Program is to support the effective employment of Practice Nurses to:

  • Relieve workforce pressure in General Practice
  • Improve the prevention and management of Chronic disease
  • Improve access to, and the quality and integration of patient care

PivotWest Aims to:

  • Assist with recruitment and orientation of General Practice Nurses
  • Assist practices to fully utilise the Practice Nurse to improve patient primary health care
  • Provide Practice Nurse eduation updates
